Patient Communication

We have recently implemented a new communication system in the surgery which will allow us the ability to inform and advise patients about their health and the practice in new ways.

You may see us contacting you via text message as a result. If you think we may not have your up to date mobile phone number it would be helpful if you can inform the practice team.

Co-codamol 30/500mg shortage

We have been informed that there is a national shortage of co-codamol 30/500mg tablets. This means this medication will become unavailable in the next couple of weeks. Those patients on co-codamol regularly will now have to reduce and stop. Unfortunately, there is no alternative medication to replace it.

We recommend patients on co-codamol 30/500 reduce by one tablet daily each week. Stopping suddenly can cause side effects and is not recommended. Co-codamol will be removed from your repeats. As you will appreciate this situation is beyond our control.

Patients on this medication will be contacted by the practice via our new Accurx service in the next few days with further information.

We will update patients as best we can.

Many thanks
